SunnySpot Productions is currently working on several other projects including:

History of the Word, a new cutting edge poetry event targeting America’s youth and beyond. History of the Word is an innovative theatre program dedicated to educating and enriching young minds through interactive forms of storytelling that chronicle the history and the power of the spoken word. This past May, Sunny Spot Productions, Inc. presented our annual GAYFEST Series for Emerging Gay and Lesbian writers and artists. The project, which began more than 6 years ago as The Gay Pride Staged Reading Series has gained unprecedented momentum and has grown into the premiere celebration for gay and lesbian playwrights.

The series, including life-affirming works for gay as well as straight men and women, has already succeeded in welcoming a diverse and enthusiastic audience.

In the past, Sunny Spot has produced smaller-scale staged readings at venues such as St. Clement’s Off Broadway Theatre and Lincoln Center’s Clark Ballroom. Last year marked the first year Sunny Spot mounted four full productions of 3 new plays and one musical. In 2004, the critical acclaim the productions garnered, were not only cause for celebration but for sold-out runs and extensions of some of the productions. With nearly 2 dozen sponsors on board for last year’s series, Sunny Spot is now looking to involve more sponsors and advertisers in the GBLT Community.

The series takes place in midtown Manhattan and media sponsors assure us coverage to more than 1 million New York readers. With several sold out houses and many positive reviews not to mention the COVER of The Blade Magazine! Please see the Gayfest 2005! link for more!

In the long run, Sunny Spot Productions, and in particular, GAYFEST will be around for decades. We hope that with your support, we could make that future a far brighter one.
