“A hilarious comic thriller”
We presented on June 13, 2005 at the Times Square's Lambs Theatre and it was met with great response from people within in the industry as well as friends of the production. The extremely talented cast headed by Frederick Weller garnered so many great comments and interest that we are looking forward to fast track this into a fall Showcase and off Broadway show the following year.
Our first treatment of this play lead by our leading player was Mario Cantone from Sex in the City, and Laugh Whore who gave a nice celebrity boost to the event.
New York, NY – New York based producer, Bruce Robert Harris of SunnySpot Productions presented a staged industry reading of Scott Brooks hilarious comic thriller BAG FULLA MONEY , directed by Sam Viverito, Monday, June 14 at 4PM at the Little Lambs Theatre (130 West 44 th Street).
A new comic thriller about everyone's fantasy- finding free money – and lots of it! It's SNATCH meets NOISES OFF. A bag of stolen cash is left shamelessly unattended in the kitchen of a fancy four star hotel. BAG FULLA MONEY is a fast and furious four-letter-word farce that flies with machine gun dialogue that crackles with wit, grit and hysterics.
It tells the tale of the chef, his girl and six others in an effort to out wit, out con and out last each other and make off with the two million bucks.
Cast included: Frederick Weller (Glengarry Glen Ross, Shape of Things), Heather Dilly (Walk Two Moons) , Benim Foster (Last Train to Nibroc), Diana De La Cruz, Richard Mazda, Stephen Valahovic (Jekyll and Hyde), James Ruteledge, and David White ( Full Monty)
Scott Brooks (playwright) is the author of several stage and screenplays. He recently finished directing his first feature film Like A Springsteen Song, which he also adapted from the stage play. He is currently co producing Charles Messina's THE GREAT DIVIDE and is the founder of Badlands Theatre company, which has produced such acclaimed productions as Rockaway Boulevard and Bad Seed .
Bruce Robert Harris ( producer) is dedicated to producing new pieces of theater and special events. He is currently producing Charles Messina's The Great Divide (Triad June 6-29). Past producing ventures included The Gay Pride Series for the past five years, he also single handedly produced a star studded gala performance of Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens directed by Bill Russell to benefit the Momentum Aids Project. He Co-produced the widely successful first American Album available on CD from Fynsworth Alley. He has associated and raised money for Little Women The Musical on Broadway and associated / worked on Paper Doll . Arriving again in October he produces the now famous dance choreographic show, The Elan Awards (Susan Stroman is being honored this year.) His other show History of the Word , a new cutting edge poetry event targeting America's youth and beyond might move from it's New Jersey Theatre to NYC in the late fall. History of the Word is an innovative theatre piece dedicated to educating and enriching young minds through interactive forms of storytelling that chronicle the history and the power of the spoken word.
